At St. Philip’s our children use the Internet within different curriculum areas to enhance their learning. In school we have a filtering system to ensure that children can’t access inappropriate content. We also have E-safety units within our Computing curriculum in each year group to ensure we teach children how to use the Internet responsibly. We further highlight the importance of being safe online when we participate in the national E-safety Day each academic year.
In order to help you keep your child safe at home please follow some of our top tips.
Always keep your computer in a family space so you can see what your children are accessing.
Contact your Internet Service Provider and discuss parental control options with them.
Social networking sites do have a minimum age restriction so primary school children should not be using them.
Finally, talk to your children about how to use the Internet safely.
